Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT KIND OF CLUB IS NNGA?
NNGA is a private social club. This means we are a members-only organization and participation in activities is strictly for members of the club.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A FULL YEAR EVEN IF I JOIN LATER IN THE YEAR?
Membership year is July 1 – June 30. Membership fees for the year are $15.00. Members joining after Jan. 1 to Apr. 30, the cost is $8.00. After May 1 – June 30 of the following year, membership is $15.00.
DO I HAVE TO BELONG TO NNGA TO ATTEND PROGRAMS OR ACTIVITIES?
You may participate in two activities before joining NNGA.
HOW DOES NNGA PROTECT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?
As a member of NNGA you agree to protect the privacy of members by:
1. Only using contact information of members for Newcomer’s activities
2. Never sharing member contact information outside of the group
3. Never post an NNGA picture on your own Social Media Account
CAN I BRING A FRIEND WITH ME TO AN ACTIVITY?
Members can bring a houseguest or visitor with them to an activity by checking with the Facilitator of the event in advance, sometimes there may be a waitlist to consider. Prospective members may attend two activities before joining the NNGA club.
WILL NNGA ADVERTISE OR PROMOTE EVENTS OR SERVICES TO IT’S MEMBERS?
Community activities are sometimes sent by email blast to members for their information. It is up to each member to plan or organize going to a community event.
CAN I FORWARD THE NNGA INFORMATION TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY?
NO. Membership, Newsletters and other communications are only circulated among NNGA membership.
I AM A NNGA MEMBER AND I WANT TO TELL NEWCOMERS ABOUT A CHARITY EVENT I’M PROMOTING. CAN I EMAIL MEMBERS WITH THE DETAILS?
NO. If you think the activity is something that our members might be interested in, send the information to the Hospitality and Communication Board Member, who will evaluate the event and either send it or not.
I DIDN’T GET THE NEWSLETTER THIS MONTH – WHAT HAPPENED?
The NNGA monthly Newsletter and Calendar of Events is published on the 25th of each month at 12:00 PM sharp. If you did not receive it, check your ‘spam/junk’ folder in case your server rerouted it. Make sure you have added NNGA to your list of contacts. If you still did not receive it, contact the Newsletter Editor. The phone and email addresses are listed on the Appointed Board Positions and the Activity Facilitators page. Because the Newsletter is sent via a blast email, some computer firewalls will not admit it or you may get a security warning. We are careful only to send safe messages.
CAN NON-MEMBERS SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER?
NO. The Newsletter and Calendar is a benefit of membership and is not circulated beyond Club members.
HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION TO GO TO A NNGA ACTIVITY?
When the Newsletter and Calendar are published, there are links to contact the Facilitator to reserve your spot. Just click on the link to send an email. Reservations are always on a first come first serve basis, with a waitlist if needed for cancellations.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MOVE AWAY FROM THE NNGA CATCHEMENT AREA?
There are no refunds or transfers of membership fees in NNGA. Members who move away from the area are welcome to attend any activity if they are visiting the area, using the same reservation system as when living in the area until the end of that club year.
